Blue zircon (a natural gem – not to be confused with cubic zirconia) also provides an excellent complement to opal. Zircon’s brilliance and sparkle rival those of diamond, and the pastel bluish-green hues of the zircon provide a subtle counterpoint to the similar, yet more intense, colors of the Australian opal.
